Waterloo Park’s revitalization transforms over seven acres of civic landscape into a vibrant, year-round public destination in the heart of the city. Medgar supported the lighting design in collaboration with SDG Landscape Architects and MNE Consultants, featuring the thoughtful integration of BEGA luminaires throughout pathways, waterfront promenades, and key gathering spaces. Lighting was carefully layered to enhance safety, guide circulation, and preserve the park’s natural character after dark. Subtle illumination along walkways and the lake edge creates a calm, intuitive nighttime experience, while feature lighting brings select moments of water and landscape to life. The project was recognized with an Honourable Mention in the BEGA Best of 2024 Awards, highlighting its success in combining technical performance with sensitive, place-based design.
