This modern, luxury residential space is filled with classic, natural materials. Balancing natural light and clean sightlines were important considerations when selecting lighting for this family home. To ensure the lighting enhance the home’s architectural elements without overpowering, we utilized our studio space in Ancaster to have the clients experience the quality of light and scale of the fixtures in person.

At the front of the house, the Corten finish of the Flindt fixture by Louis Poulsen ties in with the natural finish of the steel planters on the front of the house. Two geometric Beta Calco Stripe fixtures flank the black hexagonal tiled accent wall facing the breezeway.

The main area has large, board formed concrete walls, plywood cladding and cabinetry, concrete counters, and a concrete block fireplace. The general lighting in this area is provided by discreet Fluxwerx Aperture linear pendants with open circular details. They can be seen from the hallway above but are visually quiet and do not distract from the view. The cozy yet spacious front living area with floor to ceiling windows features a Panthella Floor lamp from Louis Poulsen in white.

The Primary bedroom has plywood tiled walls accented with modern, black Louis Poulsen Yuh Wall sconces. The Primary ensuite features Louis Poulsen AJ Eklipta wall sconces mounted on either side of the mirror. The secondary bedrooms and baths feature fixtures from Tech Lighting Mara and Joni 13 wall sconces, Orbel wall and Orbel 3-light sconces.
